Over Christmas at Donna and Steve's, Kara mentioned that she would be hosting Dalton's birthday party at the end of January and that Jonathan's big 3-0 fell the following weekend. She hoped that we could possibly make the trip down for some or all of the celebrations.
We weren't able to make it to Dalton's first birthday and we really wanted to make it work to come to his second. Plus, how could we miss Jonathan turning 30??
Since Dalton's birthday was the first weekend and Jonathan's birthday was the second weekend, we had to figure out how to make both work. Well, what better way to spend your time in Florida than at DISNEY WORLD??!
We decided to go down, celebrate Dalton's birthday, spend the week at Disney, and then come back to Jonathan and Kara's to celebrate Jonathan's 30th. I was SUPER excited. It would be such a fun trip, and it would be some good time as a family before adding baby brother. Our last BIG trip as a family of three. Plus we would get some great time with Jonathan, Kara, and Dalton. We just don't get time with them with them living so far away and we were so excited to get time with them.
Some plans got changed last minute, so we ended up only getting to spend the first weekend at Jonathan and Kara's for Dalton's birthday. It was so special to be there and celebrate him turing two. We were so happy to be there! It was our first time getting to see their new house and where they lived. They have such a cute place and we were so happy they had us.
We were glad to get away from all that snow and ice. We soaked up the sun and what do you know? Lyla wanted to be outside the whole time. I guess she thought Uncle Jonathan needed some help cutting his grass ;) It was so weird to think that we had been literally snowed in a week before and now we were enjoying 80 degree sunny weather.
I taught Saturday morning and then we hit the road as soon as I got home. We got in late Saturday night. Dalton's party was on Sunday. We got to enjoy all day Sunday with Jonathan, Kara, Dalton, my in-laws, and their friends.

We loved getting to see where they do life. We were super sad that our visit had to be so short. We would have LOVED to actually help celebrate Jonathan's birthday, but sometimes things just don't work out the way you planned. So we headed Sunday night up to Disney to check in to our condo for the week. We were SUPER PUMPED about our fun filled week of pure magic ahead of us!!
